National Trails Day at Hodges Village Dam
June 9, 2007, 9–Noon

Below you will find a press release from the Army Corps of Engineers at Hodges Village Dam. The rangers at Hodges Village have been very welcoming and open to mountain bikers and NEMBA. They've hosted MTB races, Adventure Series rides, IMBA trailcare days and allow us continued use of their property. I think we as a group owe it to them to lend a hand with some of their cleanup. You don't have to stay the full morning, an hour or two helps more than you'd think. So come on out and pitch in, help us show the rangers that we appreciate everything they do for the cycling community. Directions to the multi-use area are located on the BVNEMBA website as well as in the press release below.

National Trails Day at Hodges Village Dam, Oxford, Massachusetts

Please join the US Army Corps of Engineers on Saturday, June 9, 2007 from 9AM to 12 noon for National Trail Day. Recently we have had a forest cut that has left a lot of debris. So I would like to spend the morning cleaning up and creating a new trail system at Hodges Village Dam Multi-Use area. The project will be spent on the west side of river. We will be meeting at the Multi Use Area, just off of Clara Barton Road, heading towards Lane's Gravel Pit. National Trails Day is for communities to recognize, promote, and stimulate the creation of trails to honor the past and imagine the future as part of America's legacy for the year 2007.

Hodges Village Dam is located in Oxford, MA. Please take Interstate 395 south to Exit 4B to Oxford. Turn right at lights in Oxford center and continue straight for about 3 miles and turn left onto Clara Barton road, take next left and come to parking lot at the Multi Use Area. >From Massachusetts Turnpike, take the Sturbridge exit and follow Route 20 to Route 56 in Oxford. Take a right on Rt 56 and follow to Rt 12. Take your next right onto Clara Barton Road.

Pre-registration is recommended. For pre-registration or any questions about National Trail Day please call or e-mail Kenneth Hester Monday through Friday, from 8:00AM to 3:30PM at (508) 248-5697, e-mail address me at or write to Buffumville Lake, P.O.
